Maintenance window: 20th October 8:00 – 22nd October 2026 17:00 UTC
System Overview: Lon E Level 5 Room E01 has 6 No PSS’s (800KVa) & 6 No 600KVa UPS modules ( A-F ) 2 further PDU’s G&H) are fed via the DRUPS from Level 11 (PSB)
Work Breakdown: RMU F appears to have faulty internal wiring. This is preventing the automatic opening and closing of the RMU for alternating between generator and mains. Schneider believe this is down to a faulty micro switch . To allow the remedial works to take place , the RMU F needs to be isolated and both cable boxes and both incoming and outgoing cables removed . Day 1 will be the HV isolation and removal of cable from the gland plate on the cable box ( RHS) Day 2 will involve Schneider undertaking the remedial works and proving satisfactory operation of the motor mechanism. Day 3 will be allocated for the HV re-connection and testing.
Risk / impact: Power stream F will be isolated on the 20th for approx. 20 minutes to allow reconfiguration of the ring and moving stream F onto Raw mains. Stream F will remain on raw mains until 22nd October( max 3 days ) There will be a complete isolation on stream F on the 22nd when the power stream is moved back to power stream F UPS backed supply ( max 30 minutes )
Risk details: Loss of any other power stream during these 2 No 30 minute isolations of power stream F while this is being moved to raw mains and vice versa will result in a loss to the suite.
Purpose of Project: To replace faulty internal wiring inside RMU F and prove satisfactory automatic operation of the E01 generator backed system.
Systems Impacted: F power stream will be on raw mains for the duration of the works with complete isolation for the times noted above on the 20th and 22nd October
Backout Plan: In the event of any issue Global Switch will stop all works immediately. An assessment will then be made on the nature of the issue and customers notified accordingly. A decision will then be made on next steps to rectify the situation and restore the system to normal operation as soon as safely possible.
