Scheduled

Purpose of Project
To carry out Battery Replacement on UPS C PowerStream

Systems Impacted
PowerStream C will be put in to maintenance bypass, no battery backup will be available in event of a mains fail.

Method of Procedure
This maintenance will be carried out in accordance with the OEM Method Statement and Risk Assessment and Global Switch approved Method of Procedure.

Work Permits:
To be issued by Global Switch Authorised Person prior to works commencing.

Risk Analysis
To facilitate this maintenance it will be necessary to switch each UPS in turn to external maintenance bypass. Whilst the maintenance is in progress the customers load will not have Static UPS battery support from that UPS but the bypass supply. Meaning if a power failure event were to occur the power for the stream would be loss during the generator transfer period.

Mitigation Measures
No works will commence until all UPS's are confirmed by the OEM as alarm free and operating normally. In addition PowerStation 5 Generators will also be confirmed as operating normally and available to support load in the event of a utility mains failure. A call will also be made to UKPN to ensure there are no network issues that could impact Global Switch during each UPS maintenance window.

Back out Plan
Each UPS will be capable of being returned to service as soon as it is safely possible to do so. The maintenance will not proceed if Global Switch consider the customers load is at risk.

Deferment Analysis
This replacement work is necessary to ensure the continued resilience of customers critical load and should not be deferred.
